In the year 1920, three British gentlemen, Owkley, Bowden, and Taylor, established the Mirzapur factory near the banks of the river Ganges. A company that began with a dozen of India’s finest artisans now has over 25,000 artisans crafting beautiful handcrafted rugs. Being the largest manufacturer of handcrafted carpets, our business was primarily known for its export business. While we take pride in exporting to some of the biggest projects and brands worldwide, we wanted the Obeetee craftsmanship to gain the traction and recognition it deserves. With this vision, four years ago, under the leadership of Ms. Angelique Dhama, CEO of Obeetee Carpets, Obeetee opened its first store in the heart of Delhi. With the inception of the Obeetee Retail division only a few years ago, we have collaborated with renowned designers from the art and décor industry and launched several exclusive collections for our discerning homeowners. For 103 years, we have been adding life to your homes, and this legacy of ours breathes through every space where an Obeetee carpet is placed.
