Skylark Hand Knotted Wool And Silk Rug By Luke Irwin

Soft folds and sweeping contours define the surface of this hand-knotted construction, rendered in a quiet palette of pale grey and ivory. The sculptural forms rise and recede across the field, creating gentle variations in texture that give the rug a sense of movement even within its monochromatic palette.

Skylark looks at movement in its most fluid form. Instead of using lines or repeated geometry, the design relies on broad, curling forms that seem to fold into one another. There is something almost weightless about the composition, with the shapes suggesting air, flight and motion captured at rest.

The monochromatic character of the carpet allows its form to become the focus. It can bring softness to a structured interior or introduce another layer of texture to an already tactile setting. Its quiet presence makes it equally suited to spaces that call for subtle definition or a more sculptural visual element.
